Upcoming Events

Youth ages 4-18 are invited to attend Truth Chapel’s "CrossWord Youth Camp".  This is a day camp, and youth must be dropped off and picked up each day by an approved adult.  They must be dropped off at the ministry grounds at 189 Hickory Hill Road.  They will go to the church at 5310 S Pine Street each day for the evening service, where parents can pick them up.

Please read all rules and regulations, and complete the registration form.

Cost is $20 per child, if you pre-register by Thursday, June 15.  After June 15, registration is $30 per child.  Cost is to cover participation in daily activities and meals.  There is no charge for attending church services, though we will be taking up offerings for the visiting ministers.   Meals (lunch and supper) and snacks will be served each day of camp.

Participants will receive a certificate of participation, a memory video, a lanyard, and a t-shirt.

Adults and non-participating children are welcome to attend the services.  However, any adults that are attending the day camp must go through a background check (and pay associated fees), and must also pay the $20 fee to cover their meal costs (or $5 per meal).

Also, no one will be allowed to participate in meals and activities at the camp without being present for the services.

CrossWord Youth Camp Rules:

This camp is for ages 4-18 years old.  All children must be registered by a parent/guardian and will be under the supervision and care of their group leader all day.  Children must be checked-out by an approved adult before leaving.  If any adult will be spending the day at the camp with their child, he/she must first have a background check completed, and must pay $20 to cover meal costs for the entire camp (or $5 per meal).

Children will remain with their group leaders all day, and must not leave adult supervision.  They will also sit with their group during the services.

Please show respect and kindness.  There will be no talking back, lying, hitting, or other misbehavior tolerated.  Participants need to respect each other, and respect their leaders.

Modest apparel is required.  No short-shorts, tank tops, spaghetti straps, etc.  On Saturday, we will have some water games and children are permitted to wear bathing suits under their clothes, but no 2 piece bathing suits for girls, and a shirt must be worn over the bathing suits for both boys and girls.

For those who will be coming from out of town, there is no lodging available on the grounds.  However, there is a state park ½ a mile away for those who like camping (tent or camper) called Croft State Park.  And there is a hotel, Comfort Suites at Westgate Mall, which is about 12 miles away and gives us a discounted rate if you tell them that you are coming for Truth Chapel.

Any medication should be given to the designated staff person.  If a child is seen taking or giving medication without the designated staff person, you will be contacted.  Please turn in all medications, along with instructions on your child’s needs.

Do not bring CELL PHONES, radios, CD players, MP3 players, electronic games, toys, board games, decks of cards, books, magazines, camping knives, or other weapons.  If such an item is found on the camper, we will take it away and give it to you when you pick them up.

You may want to bring back pack, insect repellent (put name on it), sunscreen (put name on it), a change of clothes for after water events, Bible, notebook, and pen.

If they desire, a child may attend the services without attending the activities at the camp.  However, no one will be allowed to attend the camp without also attending the services.
